Hint Movie CMPlugin 1.01

System Requirements:
PowerMacintosh
QuickTime 4.0
Navigation Services (included with MacOS 8.5 or later)

This contextual menu plugin prepares QuickTime content for streaming over RTSP. It adds Hint Tracks which tell the streming server how to stream your file.

What's a Hint Track?
A hint track contains information about the media file that's needed to stream the file properly. You must use hint tracks if you plan to stream media from a computer with a QuickTime streaming server.
Using the plugin

1

Control-click on your movie file in the Finder.

2

Select “Hint Movie...” from the pop-up contextual menu.

3

A Save dialog will pop up. Type in the name of the hinted movie you will be creating, and select where you want to save it.

4

The Hint Exporter dialog will pop up, with default setting for your tracks. QuickTime creates these settings, and they work well in most cases. Don't change thses settings without consulting your network administrator. Click OK and your newly hinted movie is ready.
